Welcome to the Edgars!

Have you ever felt cheated by the Oscars? Thought Catherine-Zeta Jones should get lead actress for Chicago? Thought Jennifer Connelly should have won lead instead of supporting for A Beautiful Mind? What about Ed Harris? And where are the comedies, the action adventures, and the sci-fis? Well, welcome to the Extremely Awesome Movie Awards......

The Edgars was created in 2002 in order to honor actors and actresses, as well as movies that would otherwise be ignored by the Oscars. While the Golden Globes recognize comedy as well, and there are Sci-Fi Awards shows, and a million others, I'd rather just choose the nominees myself than look at a million different awards shows. For more information, look at the About the Edgars page.

Hopefully some of you came here last year and voted with us. Now in our fourth year, we hope to gain more people in order to have a higher voter perecentage. Feel free to look around!

If you'd like to vote, please click above, right below the banner at the top, or go to 2005 Nominees, and you will be able to view all the nominees, and their information before voting. Then click at the VOTE links at top or bottom of the nominees list.

January 23rd-Well, the site's fully updated and ready for you to view. Go vote.

January 21-I also started thinking about how nothing happens with this site during the rest of the year. I tried making that other awards thing, "The Edgar Emmys", but that was just pure crap. So, I thought up that I would have movie reviews. There will be reviews for everything I see, be it in the theatres, on TV, or rented. I will from time to time also try to remember some movies I've seen before and create reviews from those. This way you'll dive into my personal movie collection as well as my likes and dislikes when it comes to movies. I hope to see a lot more movies soon, as I plan to join NetFlix.

January 20-Okay. Rule change.....I've decided that due to changes made halfway through the voting time have occurred during the last two years, I'm making a new rule:

One change may be made to the nominations due to popular opinion, but the change is only under consideration by the creator of the Edgar Awards, of course myself. The change may not occur each year, and only one per year may occur.

This comes up because everyone has been asking why Sean Astin was not nominated for Lord of the Rings, while Elijah Wood was not voted for at all. Therefore, I switched their nominations, which I felt were very similar, and in the nomination process, nearly placed Sean instead of Elijah. Sorry, Elijah, but you did win last year. This also marks Sean's third consecutive nomination for the same role. He was nominated against Elijah, who won, in Best Actor last year, and was nominated for Supporting Actor in 2001. Oded Fehr won for The Mummy Returns.

January 7-Well, I finished the nominations last night, and you can vote now. Please head over to "2004 Nominations" to see the list.

January 1st-I just decided to forget the Edgar Emmys, and move on to this year's Edgars. We probably will never include TV shows, but we might someday. We don't know. So, I'll have the nominations up tomorrow, with a totally renovated site.

August 29-Wow, how time flies. I mean, just yesterday, it seemed as if the awards had just happened. One of my big summer projects was to fix up this site, make it look prettier, and have a new awards "show"-The Edgar Emmys. I'll be having a poll for a better name, as well as the nominees soon. You'll also see a better site soon......

March 17th-Well, Happy St. Patrick's Day and the Edgars are over!
